The Bays are one of the world's finest live electronic bands. Their speciality is improvisation; they don't record, go to the studio or even rehearse. So every show is different, to both the audience and the players!

Central to keyboardist Ski Oakenfull's equipment setup is a Novation Remote 37SL, which is used to control a laptop running Apple's Mainstage software. With its LCDs showing in-depth parameter information on whatever Ski has running on his laptop, the SL controller is perfect for live use, especially in dark environments.
Ski Oakenfull: "With the Bays, we just turn up and play, so I need to have sounds that I can access really easily. With Mainstage, that works really well, and the Remote SL helps me control them. With the readout, I can tell which knobs are assigned to which soft synths, and it works out very well for me."
