Robbie Bronnimann uses an all-Novation controller rig.

"This set up is now going to allow me to do everything I wanted; It's the best of everything for me!"

Robbie Bronnimann is the UK-based producer and remixer who produced Howard Jones' latest album, Ordinary Heroes, but who also takes keyboard and on-stage electronics duties when Howard is performing live.

His stage rig comprises two Novation Launchpads, as Robbie explains: "I'm using two of the lovely new launchpads, which are fantastic. I use one for launching clips in Ableton, and the other is configured with Automap to do all sorts of triggering and effects for all the loops and live inputs I have coming in."

Robbie also makes full use of a Novation 25 SL MkII in his rig. The array of hands-on knobs, sliders and buttons controls the mix inside Ableton, but there are a number of live feeds coming straight into Robbie's rig, too. "I do all of Howard's vocal processing, directly through Ableton. I'm controlling the effects send levels to the delays and reverbs using the X-Y pad and the modulation control!"

But why choose an all-Novation rig, you might ask? The answer is simple in Robbie'd mind, "This set up is now going to allow me to do everything I wanted; It's the best of everything for me!"
