Instrument and FX templates for Legacy synths:
Hey Its been a while. I just noticed my previous upload back in 2015 was not available. Im not sure why?? Well here it is again, hopefully it works this time. This will give your K3m a breath of life. I originally mapped this out for my Remote SL 61, This time its for the Remote SL Zero. They might be Compatible, I have not yet tried. If for some reason this file won't upload and show up, perhaps some one can shed some light as to why. Its a Sysex file straight from the Template editor...
So here goes nothing.... Hope you all enjoy, This is by far my favorite Gear Combo!!!
Kawai K3m, meet the Novation Remote SL series!!!!
7 pages of parameters for the MKS-80 super jupiter to be controlled from a Remote SL mk ii
Not the most elaborate (negative values cannot be controlled) but many parameters in a nice and simple layout. Should work for K3 and K3m.
These are two templates which provide more or less "complete" MIDI control to the Red Sound Dark Star XP2. They're probably compatible with the original Dark Star too.
I say "complete" because the XP2 has a poor MIDI implementation: you can only access some of its parameters (and not the ones you probably want), and to top it off they're all controlled not by NRPN or sysex, but by general CC messages in violation of MIDI specifications. What did you expect? It's the Red Sound Dark Star XP2!
So here you go.
This is a complete set of templates for the Oberheim Matrix 1000 with the 1.20 Firmware, available online.
The original Matrix 1000 firmware is not friendly to real-time parameter changes: it doesn't support NRPN, and changes to knobs takes a long time to update. [If you haven't upgraded to the 1.20 firmware, don't even bother trying to control the Matrix 1000 remotely.]
To the best of my knowledge, this library is 100% complete, including Unison Detune, and using NRPN, thanks to 1.20.
There are six templates in all, broken out so that separate buttons can be used to choose from various options. In some cases those options are available as dials (as are of course all continuous parameters).
The file also comes with a PDF mapping of the templates and their NRPN parameters.
Upload those 2 sysex files side by side into your controller and select midi channel 1 on your Jx8p.
To switch from one page to another, use the classic keys combination or the row select button if you have one.
This is a Template I created for my Remote SL 61. Almost all of the programming parameters are on this 1 template. All the most important ones are anyway!!
Hope you enjoy and it brings new life to your amazing Kawai K3m synth.
Much love to Novation for creating such Great Products!!
These are the original templates for the X-Station, as detailed in the User Guide.
This is for the V-synth and XT. These are all basic CC controls which are useful for performance. The Time Trip pad works perfect. D-beam use the sliders. Controls 1 and 2 use the lower knobs. HELP: If someone knows how to implement roland Sysex with Remote SL please modify this template. The V-synth midi implementation guide is here: http://lib.roland.co.jp/support/en/manuals/res/1811378/V-Synth_v2_MIDI_I...
Hope you like this template!!

These are the original templates for the ReMOTE SL.
Template for SonicCell performance mode.
Right faders: volume for parts 1-8. Right buttons: on/off for the 16 parts.
Left side: continous control of cutoff & resonance, and step control for attack and release. Also control for master transpose and volumen. Drum pads trigger notes.
Very uselful for live setup, can fool any keyboard into a master (using parts on/off to change sounds on the fly). Programmed with sysex messages (they should use 'Roland' sysex with checksum, but here uses ordinary sysex -that somehow works fine for the SonicCell-). Also useful working with midi files (turn tracks on/off, etc.).
